12-day trip on snowmobiles to the very depths of the Arctic on the route Salekhard - Vorkuta - Amderma. Our trip will take place at once on three subjects of the Russian Federation - Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, Komi republic and Nenets Autonomous District. We cross the Polar Ural mountains, live in tents in the middle of the arctic tundra, bathe in the only arctic hot spring... Have you ever had such adventures? If not, now you have a chance to experience the feelings that will remain with you for your life!

This is not a photo tour in the literal sense of the word, but it is recommended for landscape and travel photographers, powerful polar lights at this time and in this place is almost guaranteed.

Similar tours in any other travel agencies cost to two times more - you can just compare the options offered! For Evgeny Androsov this is a traditional "schtick" - to make cheep tours to expensive places :)

The group is almost complete, there are only 2 places available!

Route by days

Day 1

Arrival to Salekhard. Transfer to the city, we stay in the hotel, get visit the city, try local delicacies, buy warm clothes and shoes (who need it).

Day 2

Early rise, at 8 am we are already loaded on snowmobiles and are moving in the direction of Vorkuta, which we will not reach on this day, specially to get unforgettable sensations from spending the night in the mountains of the Polar Urals.

Day 3

Before lunch we come to Vorkuta, accommodated in a hotel and explore the city and its surroundings - mines, abandoned villages.

This small Arctic city in the western foothills of the Polar Ural mountains immediately acquired the status of a city in 1943 and became notorious. Here was one of the largest northern Stalin camps - Vorkutlag, whose prisoners worked at the coal mines. Today there is much to see, although architecture, of course, is very specific. Pompous buildings of the Stalin empire are side by side with faceless paneled Khrushchevs, and neat facades - with dilapidated courtyards. And yet, there is something in this!

Days 4 -5

Early departure to the route. These days we have to overcome the path of 350 kilometer to the settlement of Amderma, which is located on the coast of the Kara Sea, which is part of the Arctic Ocean, near the island of Vaigach, which, in turn, borders on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago.

On the way, we are faced with severe arctic landscapes, meetings with numerous representatives of the animal world - reindeer, arctic foxes, sables, partridges, and a powerful polar glow that will accompany us all nights of our journey.

Day 6

Arrival in the village of Amderma, accommodation in the hotel, acquaintance with the village, sauna, fishing is possible.

Once Amderma was a regional center, it had a mine, a seaport, a fighter aviation regiment, a base for the development of the Arctic. Today in the village there are just over 500 people, most of its industrial facilities are abandoned and half-ruined, which, despite the desperation of the landscape, gives the place a special, unique color and interest for photographers. This is not Teriberka for you - it's much steeper and more interesting!

Day 7

Departure from Amderma and the path along the tundra is another route to the northernmost thermal source "Pym-Va Shor". Here is how the source in the Arctic Tourism Center is described:

«The water temperature in the springs in the winter and in the summer is from 18 to 28 ° C (earlier reached 40 ° C). Some sources are located above the water level in the stream, others - under the water. In the Nenets and Komi, the water of the Pym-Va Shor sources has been considered since ancient times to be healing, healing from gastric, pulmonary, pectoral, ophthalmic and skin diseases.

By the forces of geologists of the Polar-Ural expedition, a swimming pool was built at the source. Sources are in a very picturesque place. Brooks cut through the limestones of Carboniferous age, forming canyons. Limestone ridge covered with red moss...

Swimming and spending the night near the source.

Day 8

Moving along the tundra to the Nenets reindeer herding camp. Overnight stay in the real Nenets plague, acquaintance with the family and life of this indigenous people of the Russian North.

During a homestay, you will get acquainted with the daily life and traditional occupations of the nomadic herders. If you want, can help the family in the daily tasks required to maintain heat in the hearth.

So will be able to learn new knowledge and skills, such as the right to choose a dry tree and cut it down, get to know the intricacies of splitting various types of wood, as well as techniques and rules for the treatment of a chainsaw and an ax. To try his hand at tanning deer skins, weaving rope, making a harness for the reindeer, as well as learn the technique of tailoring Nenets clothes. You will be shown how to throw the lasso, with some skill, You will be able to catch the deer.

We still use sleeping bags for the night in the chum, but absolutely refused to use the tourist mats, replacing them with reindeer skins.

Days 9 - 10

The road along the tundra to Salekhard. Again we enjoy the majestic arctic landscapes by day and the aurora borealis in the evening and at night, again crossing the Polar Urals.

Nenets plague Arctic Nenets Autonomous Okrug
