Welcome to reality

Beautiful, is not it? Unusual, romantic... Rice, tuna, wine, black sand and the vast ocean! And behind the scenes... behind the scenes there is a lot of things that the vast majority of city residents who are accustomed to comfort and greenhouse conditions will not like: mosquitoes, sweat, blood, cold and bad weather - often, almost always...

Picnic on Khalaktyrsky Beach

It doesn’t matter that the rice wasn’t cooked enough, the tuna seemed to have died of old age, the wine from the first liquor store he came across on the way turned out to be complete crap, and the wind blew sand into the rice and wine and he I gritted my teeth disgustingly for a long time. A couple of thousand mosquitoes and the chilly fog behind the scenes are not the essence - the main thing is the surroundings! Beautiful, unusual, romantic. And now a certain glamorous girl is sitting in a restaurant in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Vladivostok, eating fondue, scrolling through Instagram and sees this picture. What is her reaction? Of course I want to go there! Honey, Kamchatka is so beautiful, we have to go!

A large beautiful plane lands at the small airport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, not designed for a large flow of people, luggage is handed out almost on the street, but there are volcanoes around (if you’re lucky with the weather) and the anticipation of the romance of adventure ! The first couple of days are delightful and positive, and then, suddenly, it turns out that in order to see all these beauties from the pictures, you have to go God knows where, along terrible dirty roads, where you literally turn out from the shaking and bumpiness, but that’s not all! We must go! A lot and all the time uphill, that is, long and terribly hard! And even this does not guarantee that you will see beauty as in the picture! Because the weather is always trying to spoil you and either sends in fog or slashes with rain like a knife through your veins. The time of the trip is ending, I have no strength, irritation is rising in my throat, and I have run out of beautiful photos in new expensive hiking clothes and equipment. There is no need to talk about emotions - there are many of them, but most of them are negative, because I had to endure so much! The demanding instructor of the fitness club here seems like a darling compared to the cheerful guide, cheerfully voicing the mileage to be covered today - “today we will walk a little - only 15 kilometers”...

Welcome to Kamchatka! Welcome to Reality, dear city lady, seduced by the beauty and romance of Instagram pictures!
